| We are looking for a resourceful professional with demonstrated parks planning, design, development and project management experience. Superior written/verbal communication and presentation skills required. The ideal candidate will be a big picture thinker and possess creative problem-solving skills and an aptitude for cultivating and maintaining partnerships with a variety of stakeholders such as internal departments, citizens and other external organizations. Job Summary: Manages and administers the division’s capital improvement plan and associated projects for parks, open spaces, trails, and recreation facilities. This includes arts, culture and preservation planning, landscape design and construction management. Work is performed in close coordination with the Parks & Recreation Director. Located between three mountain ranges on magnificent Lake Pend Oreille, the City of Sandpoint (pop. 10,000) is an amenity rich community with a wide variety of outdoor recreation and arts and cultural events happening weekly. In August, 2020, the City of Sandpoint adopted a 20-year Parks and Recreation Master Plan to help direct the future of parks, recreation, trails and open space.
