Commissioning is a systematic process of ensuring that all building systems perform interactively according to the Owner’s Project Requirements and Performance Criteria. This is achieved by documenting the Owner’s Project Requirements, Basis of Design, and Performance Criteria and continuing through construction and acceptance period with actual verification of performance. The commissioning process shall encompass and coordinate the traditionally separate functions of system documentation, equipment start-up, control system calibration, testing and balancing, as well as functional performance testing.
