Job Description Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and overseeing three (3) Senior Project Managers and a Project Engineer, the Director of Annual Capital Projects/Labs, Engineering and Special Projects plays a critical role in the oversight of all phases of design and construction (through close out) of a varied portfolio of specialty and laboratory facilities-related projects. Projects managed by the Director and the Team typically have budgets exceeding $500,000 and are large and complex infrastructure, dining, athletic and lab projects. The Director will work with the Asst Vice President on overall policies and processes concerning project management toward successful delivery of sustainable projects that are within scope, budget and schedule. The Director will assist the Asst Vice President in the development of a thorough and ongoing understanding of the Boston/Brookline construction industry and various construction project delivery methods. The Director will work with the Asst Vice President to ensure future projects are planned and delivered in accordance with the University's Climate Action Plan requirements for LEED Certifications and Zero Waste. The Director will provide oversight, guidance and direction to three Senior Project Managers and a Project Engineer. The Director will manage their respective teams by driving the growth and development of the project team members while developing critical relationships with internal clients and external service partners. This person will be a team leader responsible for numerous construction management related tasks including: project execution, financial management, and delivering @ 150 projects that are executed safely, on time, and within budget.
