Walker Construction, Inc. began operations in 1983 in Spokane, Washington. At that time, the economy in Spokane was very unfavorable for any new start-up company, least of all a new general construction firm. We embraced each and every project that came our way and worked diligently to make the project a success for the owners and architects involved. Soon, we began having numerous repeast customers who also referred us to new clients. Our commitment to providing customers with the best service of any general contractor became the foundation of our company's growth and a building block for developing a real niches in the area of negotiated work. Forty years ago we began keeping track of the amount of negotiated work we do have used this information as a barometer for how well we are satisfying our customers. In the past 40 years, Walker Construction, Inc. has completed over 1200 projects, and of these, 85% have been negotiated. This staggering rate of negotiated work speaks volumes as to our level of devotion in leaving owners and architects happy at the end of a job. Our company is an S-Corp, with three owners. We have grown from three full-time employees in 1983 to... approximately 100 employees in 2023. We are licensed in Washington and Idaho. Walker Construction, Inc. has developed an unsurpassed reputation in Spokane and the Inland Northwest for both the teamwork and enthusiasm we bring to our projects. It is this positive approach that has been instrumental in our ability to deliver projects of any delivery method that not only meet the owner's expectations of quality and value, but exceeds those expectations. We have been the recipient of many awards and honors including the National Historic Trust Honor Award for our work at the Fox Theater. We received the Associated Builders's and Contractor's National Eagle Award for best multi-family project up to $100M. We are also the two time recipient of the prestigious Agora Award, given by the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce to companies that demonstrate concern for their customers, employees, and community.
