Job Summary
The Office of Physical Resources & Planning (OPRP) provides complete and integrated planning and design services, construction management, and building renewal, maintenance, and operations management to maintain the physical resources of the FAS campus.
The House Renewal Project Management Office (HRPMO) is responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of Harvard University's undergraduate House Renewal program.
The Project Manager for Programming, Planning, and Occupancy reports to the Associate Director for Program Management and Finance and is responsible for owner occupancy initiatives and activities, preparing and managing owner contracts for Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E), move consulting, occupancy photography, and specialty consulting as required. It is important that the Project Manager for Programming, Planning, and Occupancy work simultaneously on several projects at different phases of design and construction.
The Project Manager for Programming, Planning, and Occupancy will assist the Senior Project Managers (SPM) with the operational planning and relocation management, assist with the creation and monitoring of the implementation of design standards and owner requirements, assist with the operational communications and liaison to the FAS and community on construction impacts, and assist with the coordination between House Renewal and other FAS projects.
Position Description
Attendance at all project planning team meetings and provide design feedback as it pertains to operational readiness, FAS standards, and budget.
Collate and help create FAS occupancy standards. This includes: updating the operational readiness checklist for House Staff and Faculty Deans, an FAS Transition Document to assist with handover operations from Project to FAS, FAS Accessibility Design Standards and in coordination with the SPM, and creating AV standards and user guides for current and future projects.
Ensure occupancy readiness of Harvard University Housing (HUH)-occupied swing spaces by 1) facilitation of HUH/FAS/HRPMO discussion, 2) coordinating group action items, and 3) conducting occupancy and readiness walkthroughs with HUH and FAS.
Confirm swing furniture inventory against House lottery plans and facilitate the purchase of swing furniture. Coordinate the delivery and install of all swing furniture.
Assist the move consultant in the inventory and move of House FF&E items to swing housing and storage.
Assist with the relocation of House staff spaces (residential and office) from House proper to swing housing.
Assist with the relocation of all House staff, Faculty Deans, students, furniture, etc. from swing to the renovated House at project completion.
Assist the SPM with the supervision and distribution of work tasks of the summer design interns.
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS degree in architecture, construction management, or related field required.
Minimum of 7 years related experience, preferably in higher education.
Experience in developing analytical and planning-related communication materials for internal and external audiences, including written reports, visual media, and verbal presentations.
Experience in construction project management, housing, and previous work with large universities or institutions preferred.

Ability to walk up stairs is required.
Working Conditions
Hybrid office environment: this position will be based in Cambridge, MA and there is an expectation of three workdays per week on campus. Individual flexible and remote work options for this role will be discussed during the interview process.
