Additionally, you will ensure our projects are completely profitably, safely, and timely aligned with our team's high standards of quality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
Labor
Adequately staffs projects with superintendents, carefully selecting the appropriate talent for each project. Identifies and communicates responsibilities in cases of multiple superintendents assigned to a job.
Collaborates with superintendents to determine labor needs for projects.
Approves superintendents’ work schedules and hours, including requests for time off. Coordinates backup superintendents as needed.
Determines superintendents’ travel schedules and methods.
Evaluates field staff strengths, skills gaps, and professional interests to support effective job placement and training needs. Consults with project management to forecast job challenges and required skills to address challenges. Coordinates necessary training for superintendents.
Champions job site safety. Holds superintendents accountable to following and promoting proper safety policies, procedures, and requirements. This includes but is not limited to Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) regulations, Department of Transportation (DOT) and Fleet Safety requirements, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) practices, controlled access, Hazardous Waste, and all other safety-related requirements.
Recruits, selects, develops and evaluates superintendents and field staff.
Aids in the use of an evaluation system for field staff to develop specialized crews, incentives, etc.
Works with superintendents regarding subcontractor issues, engaging project management if necessary.
Project Execution
Leads field operations with a focus on maximizing labor production to meet estimated costs and efficient use of materials and equipment.
Determines the most efficient use of labor and crew composition, optimizing the match of field skills and abilities to project budgets and requirements.
Establishes and communicates the weekly superintendent and labor schedules for the upcoming week’s labor, material, and equipment requirements.
Leverages Procore to verify three-week look ahead schedules and daily logs are completed by the superintendents for all jobs.
Reviews weekly productivity reports for self-performed work as well as overtime reports with project management.
Collaborates with superintendents to ensure project start-up and pre-planning needs are completed.
Monitors jobs for timely and cost-effective completion. Provides timely input on project progress to project management, estimating, finance, etc., including active participation in project reviews.
Identifies and communicates project challenges to all jobsite staff to support quality work.
Collaborates with project management and superintendents to determine and coordinate material and equipment needs for projects, ensuring proper allocation and availability.
Evaluates equipment needs and use with the Warehouse Manager for duplicates, replacements, and repair. Provides input for future use and purchases. Provides recommendations for major equipment and vehicle purchases. Continually researches new equipment and methodology to optimize successful project execution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or equivalent relevant construction jobsite and leadership experience.
OSHA 30 Certification within 90 days of employment start date required.
Experience/Knowledge
15+ years of in-the-field construction experience.
5+ years of construction leadership experience.
A valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
Ability to efficiently use technology (e.g., tablet) and the Internet. Proficiency in Procore desired.
