SHUTDOWN COORDINATOR, CONSTRUCTION , Facilities-Campus Construction-Project Management Group , will provide operational management for facilities projects such as construction, commissioning, and renovations. Will be responsible for managing construction projects and meeting budgets and deliverables schedules; overseeing, coordinating, and implementing the shutdown of various utilities within Facilities that are affected by numerous renovation projects; ensuring that effective communication occurs between Campus Construction project managers and Repair and Maintenance personnel with regard to ongoing project related shutdowns; reading construction plans and engaging in frequent contact with DCS project managers and engineers to understand the scope and schedule needs of the projects and to coordinate those needs with the needs of the Repair and Maintenance team; and interacting with hired contractors and designers, regularly attending construction meetings, and supporting building occupants and customers.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; three years' relevant experience; basic knowledge and understanding of relevant Massachusetts' building codes/regulations, Massachusetts' energy efficiency codes/regulations, and sustainability standards (e.g., LEED, ILFI, Fitwel, etc.); and excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting the deadlines required by specific projects and maintaining attention to detail; effectively manage and organize large amounts of data; act independently to resolve basic issues and recognize when to escalate issues before they are critical;give presentations and prepare written reports for internal and external audiences; persuade, influence, negotiate, and form alliances with a variety of peers and clients; listen to other opinions and incorporate those ideas into the work plan; delegate work; and collaborate effectively with a team of professionals.
