What you’ll be doing...
We’re investing in our network to improve the way we live, work, and communicate. Our network infrastructure will be critical for all our future network transformation objectives including new products such as FTTP, IoT, 5G and future smart cities. As an FTTP Program Manager, you will manage the Outside Plant (OSP) components of the Fiber to the Premise Program for the Potomac Region (Md,DC,Va). Your primary role will be management of the FTTP OSP design and build associated with multi-dwelling unit (MDU) communities.
You will be managing all aspects of the MDU Program including overall program governance as well as detailed reporting of individual project status. You will be responsible for project prioritization and managing them to completion.
Key responsibilities include…
Driving complex projects and programs to achieve targeted and measured business goals and key objectives.
MXU project initiation including partnering with Verizon Enhanced Communities (VEC) for premise access license (PAL) negotiations as well as direct communication with Property Owners and Developers.
Interfacing with the Local Construction Managers, Area Managers, Directors, Customers, Local Contacts, Sales Contacts as well as Engineering Planners, Coordinators, Supervisors and Engineering Associates.
Developing and implementing corrective action plans to mitigate impact to project schedules and overall business objectives.
Maintaining excellent communication with functional team members, direct management and external customers to ensure early identification of issues and providing timely reporting of status.
Oversight of Engineering Vendor resources including assigning projects, processing invoices, monitoring productivity and quality performance.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or five or more years work experience.
Five or more years of relevant experience.
Strong Background in Outside Plant Engineering and Construction to include, but not limited to: Cable Placing, Splicing, Contract Services and MXU inside pathway work functions.
Ability to review and understand an Engineering Work Order (EWO) related to FTTP, MXU projects.
Experience in systems to include but, not limited to: Vbuild, CoFEE, BDMS, IVAPP, WFM and LFIM.
Strong background in contractor management including: PAR creation, invoice review and processing associated with Engineering SOW Contracts.
MS Office Proficiency – in particular: Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Technical or project management experience.
Knowledge of PC and software applications including Windows and MS Office.
Ability to understand and communicate new technologies, equipment and systems as related to FTTP/MXU Design, Construction and provisioning functions.
Even better if you have:
Project Management experience across multiple work groups and turfs.
Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organizational and external customer communications.
Strong organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
Experience with making independent decisions based on policies, practices and project requirements.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
