The Fire and Life Safety Project Manager is wholly responsible for the successful planning, implementation, testing, training and closing of all assigned projects. As the single point of contact from post-sale through project sign-off, the Fire and Life Safety Project Manager is expected to have exceptional communication, organization and leadership skills, and the ability to manage all stakeholders’ expectations throughout the life cycle of the project. This may require regular meetings and status updates with owners, contractors and executive management, both internal to ACT and external to the stakeholders.
A Fire and Life Safety Project Manager will have specific aptitude for managing budgets, risk assessment/management, resource allocation, quality control, procurement and other client-specific project processes. This includes the creation of comprehensive project and work plans in accordance with the customer approved scope of work and/or contract and schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews, understands and ensures execution and delivery of projects in accordance with contractual agreements.
Reviews labor force and schedule forecasts to ensure delivery per client schedule and meet ACT billing goals.
Negotiates and manages sub-contractor agreements as needed.
Manages the entire life cycle of a project, including, kick off meetings, procurement, status/progress updates, change orders, billing, commissioning, project closeout, service handoff and all supporting documentation.
Provides accurate forecasts and WIP reports to other internal departments as required for company projections.
Manages a team of technicians and superintendents and ensures they execute effectively and adhere to the ACT Core Values.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Advocate for the customer in a way that is consistent with the ACT Core Values
Mentor and provide peer review and guidance to fellow Project Managers
Proactively strive to improve processes and procedures in a way that will positively impact the ACT workflow process
Attend scheduled company meetings
Attend training classes held either onsite or offsite as required
Occasionally travels to job sites over 2 hours away that require overnight stays
Proven track record in a high volume, fast paced project management role.
Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens as mandated by the Tennessee Drug Free Workplace program
Must be able to become a registered alarm employee under the requirements of the State of Tennessee.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks amidst regular interruptions
Skills and ability to effectively run multiple projects simultaneously
Self-sufficient, self-motivated, organized, reliable and punctual without the need for daily supervision
Strong computer skills and experience with accounting, project management and general office software.
Familiar with and able to understand critical path workflows
Able to read and interpret complex blueprints and electrical schematics
Must be skilled in dealing with ambiguity – effectively coping with change, shifting gears comfortably, and deciding/acting without having the total picture
Must be able to effectively use a computer for extended periods of time
Must be able to traverse unfinished construction sites
Must be able to communicate effectively by email or on the phone
While the job demands the ability to work in an office for long periods of time, some on-site meetings will be required, in varying weather conditions
The nature of the construction business may require long work hours and occasional weekend work in order to meet project specific timelines
